Published between 1801 and 1818, The Beauties of England and Wales was a series of books concerning the histories and topography of England and Wales, illustrated with views of picturesque scenes and important sites. 

At the beginning of the nineteenth century, there was an increasing interest among the British public in the history and antiquities of their own country. In an attempt to capitalise on this demand, publishers sought to publish illustrated guidebooks.
